TIRANA, April.6- In its meeting, the Supervision Council of the central bank after analyzing the recent economic development and trends in the Albanian financial market decided that the basic interest rate should be kept unchanged at the level of 5.5 percent. Annual inflation for February 2007 was 2.9 percent, a figure which was close enough to the target of BoA. CPI increased by 0.5 percent during February, abiding by seasonal trends of last years. The loans record a record level of 194.4 billion leks or 3.2 billion leks more than the previous month. Annual figures show an increase of 55.8 percent or 21.5 percent of GDP. Monetary developments of January have seen a lower demand for monetary means caused by government’s lower needs.
