BoA sets up Meeting Calendar for 2007

TIRANA, Jan 17. – In a special meeting the Supervising Council of BoA approved the schedule of meetings that will be held during 2007, mostly focused on their topical categorizing. A novelty of this year will be the meetings completely focused on the policy making and decision-making regulations. In the last two years BoA has gone through a deep internal assessment process and has drawn important conclusions as well as prerogatives for its own work. The new meetings will aim at improving general transparency of the work of this important institution. In the discussion of the work program of 2007 the bank has as unchanged priorities increased effectiveness at the regulation of financial market as well as the targeted level of inflation. Some of the most important meetings planned for 2007 are: the approval of the monetary policy for the second part of 2007, the approval of the regulatory scheme for the financial system and especially the banking sector, the analysis of construction sector etc. throughout the year the bank will publish thorough reports about the economic stability, the situation and liquidity of the banking sector, the performance of several business sectors.
