TIRANA, Jan. 28- Last week, BoA’s governor, Ardian Fullani met with the French central Banks Director Christian Noyer during his visit in Paris. Fullani expressed gratitude for the help that France gave for BoA’s integration to Eurosistem, according to the press statement released by BoA on Monday. The meeting aimed at revisiting the fields of cooperation between the two banks, the exchange of expertise and the design of a specific plan for joint efforts. Fullani presented a resume of BoA’s work and the progress achieved so far in meeting European central banking standards. Fullani said that his strategy was to achieve better standards unaffected for political problems. He emphasized that coordination with other European central banks is crucial for the Albanian side in its path towards Europe. The tow officials exchanged ideas about the common practice of target inflation. Fullani described how the bank he leads had adopted the IMF recommendations about he practice of targeted inflation. Fullani said that during last year efforts were concentrated on improving public communication and transparency as well as developing a strong framework of institutional independence. Fullani said that now the bank is working towards developing analytical capacities for taking complete control of monetary policies in 2008. Governor Noyer praised the work of BoA in securing the current macroeconomic stability of Albania and confirmed France’s will to further collaboration. He recommended further improvements in statistical methods and research in order to achieve better results on the targeted inflation plan.
The meting ended with an invitation form the Albanian Governor to Christian Noyer who accepted the honor. Fullani’s visit included meetings with academics and financial leaders of France.
