TIRANA, Feb.26 – BoA’s supervision body met last week in order to consider a report from the Monetary policy department. The general topic concerned the practice of targeted inflation and future policies in this regard. During the last years inflation has fluctuated between 2 and 4 percent, thus within the margins set by BoA. The bank has been seriously committed to stabilizing the local currency and controlling inflationary pressures. The bank has tried to equilibrate the policies for enhancing the economic development with stabilizing measures in the large financial and macroeconomic sense. The changes in the dynamic financial markets dictate the necessity of new and adaptive policies with regard to transparency and regulation. The supervision council analyzed the preparation s made by BoA about the future monetary policy. 2008 is expected to be the year in which there will be qualitative changes in the general monetary policy of the bank. This coincides with the closing of the Agreement with IMF.
