Tirana ensemble takes part at dance international festival in Bilbao
TIRANA,Aug. 15 -Albania’s Tirana Ensemble took part at the International Festivalof Dance held recently in Bilbao, Spain, along with some 28 ensembles from all over the world. There were held concerts in San Sebastian, Santader,Valle de Mena etc, where the Albanian actors played their parts.
Book fair in Saranda Aug. 17-21
TIRANA, Aug. 14 – The book fair that has traveled in other cities in Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia and Montenegro the end of the week Aug. 17-21 will be held in the southernmost port town of Saranda, said its organizers, the Publishers’ League and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports. That is the last leg of the fair’s tour of some 50 publishers.
Albania to take part at Tunis international film festival
TIRANA, Aug. 15 – Albania will participate at an international film festival of animated films held in Tunisia Aug. 22-27, the animated film association said. There will be seven Albanian films at the festival made by Artan Maku, Gjin Varfi, Stefan Taci, Artur Dauti, Bertant Shijaku and Ergys Faja. This will be the first time of participation at this African festival. Albania produces some four-five short animated films per year and has an archive of some 200 of them.
Saranda with a rich biodiversity
SARANDA, Aug. 14 – The southernmost district of Saranda is one of the richest biodiversity areas in the country, according to experts. Butrinti and Bufi lakes are at this area, together with the lagoons of the Bay of Aramiras that links the Butrinti lake to the Corfu Canal of the Ionian Sea. Experts say that some 70 percent of the country’s biodiversity is located at this area with some 3,300 biological groups of animals, fishes and mollusks. Experts say 109 birds of special importance in the countrywide context live in this area and 33 out of them are of international importance.
