Customs Office realizes targeted revenue collection plan

TIRANA, April.10- The customs directory has declared that it has surpassed the 3-month targeted revenue collection plan by 11 percent with nearly 2 billion leks collections more than planned. A yearly increase of 15.3 percent for the state revenues, the figure shows a considerable improvement. Imports have increased in general for the January-March period especially those of fuel, alcoholic beverages and coffee. The total worth of imports has been 82.9 milliard leks, or 15.3 billion more than last year, an annual increase of 22.7 percent. Out of these fuels have recorded 89.6 tons, coffee 1556 tons and beer 5075 hectoliters.
The customs will support government plan for alleviating obstacles to business by lowering the tax to imported goods that will be reprocessed in Albania by 1 percent. A master-plan for the construction of 17 new customs point in the border areas is expected to be started soon with the financing contribution of 3 million euro from the European Union.
