PALASE-SARANDA, Oct. 30 – The winning ticket for the local elections has traditionally been related to the party which largely showed a preoccupation with infrastructure. Whenever an election campaign draws closer, the completion of road projects starts to be the focus of all media. Saranda, a southernmost town, inaugurated four completed road projects. One of the projects was a segment connecting the town to Gjirokastra and the rest concerned internal town streets. All of these projects had started in 2005 and were realized by the Albanian companies: “ARTI”, ltd; “EGNATIA GROUP”, ltd; “GJIKURIA”, ltd. Supervisor was Tec. Consult, ltd. The total value of this investment was 409 million leks. The southern district of Vlora has also benefited from the election zeal with the realization of the road Palas-Dhermi, one of the largest state funded projects managed by Tirana Airport Partners. The total value of the investment was approximately 197 million leks spent from “Triss Ndertim”, ltd.
Other repaired road segments were inaugurated in the North at the end of the week. These include important northern routes that will connect to the major Durres-Prishtina highway such as Qafe Mali – Kalimash, Puke – Qafe Qele and Gjegjan – Fushe Arez.
