TIRANA, March 18 – The Finance Ministry said Sunday that it has started to pass many of the taxes of small businesses to the local authorities countrywide. At the same time the ministry appealed to the local authorities to keep up with the promise of the central government to lower taxes by one third to this group of business. Deputy Minister Florian Mima said that the ministry was ready to assist the local authorities to take over the tax collection for small businesses offering the entire required infrastructure needed and which they had. Mima said that the transfer of the process is not completed only with the files but assured them of a continuous support in their work. That transfer would include passing the number of the employees under the local authorities the management so that all the expertise passes smoothly to them. The ministry would also offer the logistics and the software they use in the process. The ministry added they were ready to offer training of the personnel.
