DROPULL, Sept. 13 – A Greek firefighter helicopter was exploited for five hours to extinct the fire in the Dropull area in southern Albania. Local firefighting services were not able and had not the capacities to make that so the prefect exploited a bilateral agreement to appeal to the Greek authorities, who immediately brought the helicopter.
In another case a fire broke Tuesday in Zervat village damaging forests and lawns, according to firefighter police officer Lefter Qirici. He said some unidentified persons had put the fire to some lawns that later came out of control and damaged the nearby forest as well. It also threatened the ancient monastery of Driano. Again this time they asked for assistance from the Greek firefighter service in Ioanninna that used the helicopter.
