Flood-affected businesses furious over authorities’ indifference as they incur losses of €10 mln

TIRANA, Dec. 12 – Dozens of businesses situated in the industrial area just outside the capital city along the Tirana-Durres highway have condemned indifference by central and local government authorities following the huge losses they incurred from the Nov. 8 massive floods. The affected businesses, including a commercial center, a detergent plant, a leading manufacturer of aluminum profiles, a car trade company, claim they incurred losses of €10 million from last month’s flash floods which they blame on lack of drainage infrastructure and the opening of gates from some local reservoirs and lakes.
