TIRANA, Oct.25 – The focus on this week’s government meeting was education. Prime Minister Berisha summarized some of the positive developments in the field such as the liberalization of universities. Education is the ultimate weapon against poverty and as such it remains one of the key priorities of the present government. Berisha addressed also the specifics of professional high schools and the quality of education in over crammed urban schools.
One of the decisions taken in this meeting was the agreement signed with the Italian Bank, Artigiancassa, S.p.A for the rehabilitation of the Vlora port, one of the key trade flow spots in the country. The same bank will also finance the necessary operations to repair the road segment between Shkodra and Han i Hotit, the border spot with Montenegro.
The government also decided to give full capacity to the National Agency of Natural Resources to realize a professional monitoring process for the abandoned mines.
