TIRANA, Oct. 3 – The Agriculture Ministry asked all wholesale businessmen to bring food products from import with labels in the Albanian language. The request was made at a meeting of the ministry officials with a group of businessmen. Public officials introduced to the business the legislation on food and labeling that has been in power since 2002 but that has not been carried out from them. Albania imports many food products but only some 60 percent of them has labels in the Albanian language. The ministry said it would set fines for those companies that do not apply the rule in the future.
