TIRANA, Jan. 8 – The vetting process’ Independent Qualification Commission announced on Tuesday its decision to dismiss from office the head of the Saranda Court Alltun Cela under the country’s judicial reform.
The IQC investigated Cela’s accumulated wealth, his moral integrity and his professional training and state it had found issues in all three re-evaluation pillars.
Although the property verification inspectorate had sent a positive report about Cela, the IQC stated during the January 4 hearing that the judge’s declarations held contradicting facts. He was additionally considered “ from the Classified Information Security Directorate, he was considered “unfit” to continue holding this post.
Meanwhile, according to the IQC, the High Council of Justice has also rated Cela’s professional skills under average, During the re-evaluation phase, a number of complaints were filed to the IQC regarding à‡ela.
Tuesday’s decision regarding the Saranda chief judge brought the number of first instance court heads dismissed under the country’s judiciary reform to four.
