TIRANA, May.2 – The tender for the Albanian energy purchase has resulted in separate contracts with five providers, out of 29 participants. Negotiations were led by Albania’s Unit for Energy Trade. The Swiss company EGL, the Serbian EFT and Rudnap, and the Czech CEZ and EZPADA, will provide a total of 150 240 MWh separated in slots and with prices varying between 43.6 to 47.21 Euro/MWh. The decision will be in line with the renovations being performed on the transmission line traversing Bulgaria-Greece-Albania from the 7th to 31st of this month. Economy Minister Genc Ruli stressed the reliance on imports, since a very dry summer is being predicted. The Finance Deputy Minister, Shefredin Shehu, said that important financial changes are being made in the corporation which needs the support of the government, given its present situation. Additionally, the process of cutting off power to customers who are in debt to the corporation is continuing.
