Minister of the Economy predicts short term losses from SAA

TIRANA, Oct. 18 – Economy, Energy and Industry Minister Genc Ruli said that the lowering of the customs fees according to the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) would cost the government 20-25 million Euro. Reporting to the parliament’s Integration Committee, the minister emphasized the need for recurrent and accurate information about the possible effects of the SAA. He pointed out some difficulties in engaging all the relevant administrative structures to respect the SAA standards. Head of the parliamentary commission Ilir Meta said that all the actors of the Albanian society should be kept informed about the SAA impact.
