Mobile companies- the winners of the year

TIRANA, Dec. 26 – Albanians spend more on the phone. Mobile companies AMC and VODAFONE have registered head spinning revenues for this year, 70 percent of which through plain phone calls and SMS services. More than half of the population, an estimated 1.7 million, uses the mobile. AMC records 827,000 clients and a revenue figure of 110 million euro. Vodafone has a slightly better list of 868,000 clients and revenues of 138 million euro. In 2007, upon the successful privatization of Albtelecom, the state owned telecommunication company, a third mobile operator called Eagle Mobile will enter the market.
