KORCA, Oct. 24 – Mountainous tourism has been an important source of revenue for many areas in the southeastern district of Korca. There have been domestic and foreign tourists visiting many areas like Voskopoja, Dardha, Vithkuqi, etc. There have been more than 1,500 tourists in Dardha and more than 3,000 in Voskopoja, who have brought significant revenues to the local residents there. Among them there have been almost 1,000 foreign tourists enjoying the mountainous weather. But many tourists have been daily ones. Winter is expected to be a good season for those areas too. Improper infrastructure and blocking of the roads by snow may become a serious problem. Road maintenance remains a top challenge for the local authorities. An investment mainly from public money is expected to be made in Dardha for skiing.
