TIRANA, Dec. 22 – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will finance a new project for the repair and upgrade of a key road junction in Albania. The tender will be open on February 5 a tender and bidders are invited to place their offers by 12 a.m. local time for a 6.4 million euro ($8.4 million). The news was given by pres office of the EU on Thursday. The total cost of the projects is 18 million euro and the remainder will be provided by the government in Albania and other donors. On the website of the Tenders Electronic Daily, the supplement to the official Journal were given more details about the project which includes the construction at the entrance to the capital Tirana of a grade-separated junction between the road to Durres, the country’s largest port city, and the road to nearby town of Kamza. Infrastructure has been one of the lending priorities of EBRD which total funds for road projects in Tirana total at 14.6 million euro.
