TIRANA, May 3 – Over 22,000 firs were planted in Llogara National Park with the support of AMC, increasing the green area and helping to prevent land from sliding, the mobile phone company said.
Planted across an area of 6.5 ha within the National Park, they compensate to a considerable degree for trees that were cut or burned.
“The planting campaign in Llogara is a contribution for the National Park and it also is part of AMC dedication to contribute for improvement of the environment. AMC will always support initiatives that are on the benefits of the nature,” said Nikos Parastatidis, an AMC official.
AMC says it is dedicated to the protection of the environment, not only by promoting national initiatives such as the Llogara reforestation but also by using advanced technologies that respect the environment. AMC sees the world full of day-by-day care for the environment – an investment for the future.
National Park of Llogara is located 40 km south-east of Vlore, between Adriatic and Ionian Seas. It reaches up to 2018 m above sea level. It hosts many kinds of trees, mainly coniferous. It’s an important touristic destination, possessing great opportunities of eco-tourism, air sports, camping and trips.
