Request for Levan-Vlore road funds still being reviewed, EBRD says

TIRANA, March. 5 – The London headquarters of the European Bank for Reconstruction and development (EBRD) sent out a notice to clarify questions arising regarding a premature inauguration of the Levan-Vlore road. During one of the campaigns highlights, Prime Minister Berisha and Transportation Minister Lulzim Basha greeted the start of the operations on the important segment part of the VIII Corridor that will link the capital of Tirana to the Port of Vlora, the second largest after Durres. 50 million euro is the considered sum of the investment which is being asked from EBRD. The London office confirmed that the review process is still under way and that the funds have not been allocated yet. The tender for the road had 17 participants out of which the Austrian “Alpine Meyereder Bau GmbH” was proclaimed the winner.
