SHKODRA, March 6 – Shkodra police arrested Tuesday Viktor Vukaj, 57, after found with him a considerable amount of smuggled cigarettes. Vukaj, resident of Guri i Zi commune in northern Shkodra, had a depot with the smuggled cigarettes. Vukaj has denied he is a smuggler claiming he had traded cigarettes in an illegal way like all the other persons at Rusi market where there are some 30 other persons like him. They usually come from the northern villages to sell in the pavements. In Tirana police arrested Tuesday Esat Veriu, 41, after he was caught with 5,480 packages of “Malboro” and “Slims” cigarettes without the proper customs label. He was arrested late at night while transporting them.
