Yields rise as BoA sells 31.6 billion Lek in treasury bills,

TIRANA, July 15؂ank of Albania (BoA) sold at an auction on Tuesday 31.6 billion Lek (245.3 million euro) in six and twelve month treasury bills as yields were mixed, BoA reported on Wednesday.
The Bank of Albania offered and sold out 17 billion Lek worth of six-month T-bills which produced a weighted average yield of 7.66%, almost flat from the 7.67% achieved at the previous auction held on June 16. Dealers placed bids worth 19.06 billion Lek, BoA data showed.
The bank also sold its entire offer of 14.6 billion Lek worth of 12-month treasury bills, as dealers sought to buy 21.3 billion Lek worth of the government securities. Yields edged up to 9.28%, from 9.24% at the previous auction two weeks earlier.
The Bank of Albania has auctioned treasury bills worth 227.27 billion Lek since the beginning of the year. It auctioned treasury bills worth 373 billion Lek in par value last year, compared to 386.83 billion Lek in 2007.
