TIRANA, March 3 – Some $10 million will be used to promote Albanian farmers and subsidize their agriculture activities.
The funding is part of the government’s assistance to the agriculture sector, which is considered a high priority among authorities.
Agriculture brings in some one-fifth of the country’s GDP, though it employs more than one-half of the population.
Finance Minister Ridvan Bode also said that the recent measures taken by authorities, the just-begun VAT tax return, will bring some $50-60 million dollar in profits to farmers.
