105 kilograms of marijuana seized in Macedonia

SKOPJE, Macedonia, June 13 – Police in Macedonia have seized 105 kilograms of marijuana smuggled from neighboring Albania. Two men were also arrested following a car chase.
The drugs, packed in 99 packages wrapped with tape, were discovered in the trunk of the car, after the police apprehended it near the town of Prilep in central Macedonia.
It is believed that the marijuana was smuggled by boat across Lake Ohrid, which lies between Albania and Macedonia.
The market value of the seized drugs is estimated at about 400,000 Euros ($575,000).
