FIER, Nov. 6 – A group of hundreds of farmers of the Topoja village in the Dieri district stopped two army trucks loaded with explosives to cross their vilalge. They complained that the destruction of the explosive at an army base three kilometers from their village had caused considerable damage to their houses and also been a disturbance for their ears. For some two hours they did not allow the two trucks and their drivers to cross the village. Police arrival later managed to ‘release’ the trucks and their drivers. Vilalgers said that explosions in the last three years had damaged their houses. They said the army used heavy artilelery sahells at Pishe e Godes area near the sea. They complained that the commune head was an official they did not trust. They made the action in an effort to ring the alarm bells to the Defense Minsiatry appealing to the high institutions to stop explosion destruction near their area. They said they would not allow any army truck with explosion to criss their area. More than half of the 400 houses in the village had suffered damge. The comune head agreed with his villagers but added that the fnd they had was not enough to compesante all of them. Local authorities pledged that no explosion would be destroyed until the Defense Minsitry decided on that.
