TIRANA, Nov. 24 – Last Friday, the High Council of Justice considered some cases of disciplinary steps against several judges. One case was postponed because of the defendant’s absence, while in another the case was closed. The council decided to further investigate the complaints against a judge in the southernmost town of Saranda. The judiciary has been the main target of criticism by the international institutions, who consider it a major obstacle to the country’s efforts to become integrated into international institutions.
