Alleged drug traffickers arrested in Korca and Dibra

KORCA, Nov. 26 – Police arrested five persons accused of drug trafficking and sequestered 68 kilograms of cannabis sativa in an operation codenamed Ambulanca. Jorgo Kordalli, 41; Edi Goce, 29; Zafir Dajko, 29; Kostandin Binjaku, 32 and Jorgo Dulla, 32, were arrested the previous Thursday and accused of drug trafficking in collaboration with each other. They were arrested at the Korce-Bilisht road segment; police found 12 packages of marijuana in their vehicle. Police sequestered six mobile phones and three vehicles used by the arrested persons and were continuing the investigation into the destination of the drugs.
Xhelo G쳶eshi, 40, and Bastri Asllani, 44, were arrested in connection with the discovery of some 120 kilograms of marijuana destined for Greece on the Gjirokastra-Tepelena road segment in June.
In another case, this time in the form of a show, police burnt a considerable amount of drugs that have been sequestered during the last years in different operations. Police burned 620 kilograms of cannabis sativa near the Kir river in Shkodra.
