The governing Democrats also decided officially that their Interior Minister Sokol Olldashi would run for the post of Tirana mayor against the existing Mayor Edi Rama, who has yet to declare his candidacy officially. Olldashi said, however, he would not resign from the government post and appealed to Rama to hold a civilized campaign.
