Public Sector Salaries go up

TIRANA, Jan.3 – The latest data released on Wednesday from the National Statistics Institute (INSTAT) show that the average monthly salary in the Albanian public sector was 28,950 leks ($308.3/232.4 euro) in the third quarter of 2006. Compared to last year this is a rise of 4.9 percent. Out of Albania’s 3.135 million people, the public sector employs 170,500 people at the end of the third quarter of 2006.
