LEZHA, Jan. 31 – The Muslim community in the northern town of Lezha fired Tomor Ballbani, a mufti who is running for the rightist Christian Democratic party in the eastern town of Rrogozhine, from all religious posts. Ballabani said himself he was running because “I feel more than any other” referring to his background as a mufti and also because of his young age. The Lezha Muslim community said that act ran counter to the country’s constitution which defines that a religious person cannot run for public posts.
