TIRANA, Sep. 22 – Attempting to join 1,300 cities worldwide trying to reduce environmental pollution by stopping the use of cars for some days, the Albanian capital turned into a big traffic jam with thousand of cars blocked along some arteries while the main roads were blocked by police.
The environment ministry and the city hall were trying to exploit the traffic jam to show citizens how Tirana might be with fewer autos on the roads, but in practice it turned out that its citizens did not agree and using cars they blocked other roads.
