Five NATO ambassadors on a two-day visit to Albania

TIRANA, Jan. 19 – Ambassadors from five NATO-member countries’ visited Albania last week on a two-day visit in order to follow recent developments dealing with reform in the country.
British Ambassador Stewart Eldon, Danish Ambassador Per Poulsen-Hansen, French Ambassador Richard Duque, German Ambassador Ulrich Brandenburg and Dutch Ambassador Herman Schaper met with top Albanian officials, including President Bamir Topi, Prime Minister Sali Berisha, Foreign Minister Lulzim Basha, other lawmakers as well as with Defense Minister Fatmir Mediu and top army officials.
All five NATO ambassadors shared a similar message to Albania that it must meet its obligations stemming from the process of NATO integration, in order to be offered membership during April’s NATO Summit in Bucharest.
