TIRANA, Feb. 6 – The announcement that the list of medicine subsided for the pensioners created great concern among them taking into consideration their low retirement payment.
The Health Ministry has a smaller fund this year for the reimbursement of the medicine used by pensioners. The pensioners’ trade union has warned the authorities they should not include pensioners in reducing the subsided medicine and repeated that 36 more medicine should be included in the list. The existing list has 368 medicine covering 94 percent of the chronic disease but the reduced 2008 budget funding may lower their number.(Tirana Times Staff)
