TIRANA, April 14 – Police reported they have arrested three persons found with counterfeit U.S. dollars.
The three were arrested while they were transporting some $22,000 to be distributed in different places in Tirana and then to be exchanged for other currencies. Prior to the arrest, a person had informed police he had changed a large amount of counterfeit bills at an exchange bureau, which were different denomination banknotes.
Police followed the suspects for more than a week before arresting them. Also, in a similar incident, police arrested four minors from Kosova who were transporting counterfeit U.S. currency. (Tirana Times Staff)
