TIRANA, June 10 – Wolfgang Grossruck, an Austrian lawmaker and head of the Albania-Austria friendship association, was awarded the Gjergj Kastrioti Skenderbeu Order for his special and very important contribution in urging and supporting democracy in Albania.
The medal was awarded from Albanian President Bamir Topi following the request from the parliament Speaker Jozefina Topalli.
The ceremony was held while many Austrian businessmen and senior officials had come to Albania to take part at a meeting on investment in the tiny Balkan country.
Grossruck has been a great supporter of Albania’s efforts of integration into European Union and NATO during the last decade when, as he said, he has visited the country some 30 times. (Tirana Times Staff)
