Ashta hydro power station interesting to 3 companies

TIRANA, June 14 – Three international companies have expressed interest in purchasing the Ashta hydropower station in Albania, according to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy.
A consortium of the French Companie National du Rhone and Electrabel in Benelux, and the Austrian Verbund company expressed interest in an international tender to be held by Albanian authorities.
The installed power in the new station will be between 40 and 70 MW and will be built in three years. The new station will also regulate water levels along the Drini River. The authorities will award the tender in one month. (Tirana Times Staff)
