Officials noted that this action was, in part, due to rising summer temperatures and the increasing number of consumers from outside the country visiting Albania this summer. In Albania, many shops have been fined for selling expired products to buyers. Valbona Paluka of the Agriculture and Food Ministry said that, luckily, only a few cases of poisoning from food were reported this summer and those were caused by a lack of proper care from consumers.
