TIRANA, June 1 – Under the project “Sustainability growth of the civil society organizations” and “Get Locally Involved in the EU Integration Process”, Europartners and AYNEI shall organize a second round of seminars with NGOs, local stakeholders and business communities in the cities of Shkodra, Gjirokastra, Elbasan, Vlora, Korca and Tirana.
In this second round a variety of subjects will be discussed based on the findings of the assessment carried out several months ago related to the role of the civil society in the EU integration process, issues of its sustainability other than donor community, etc.
The seminars will be held in the course of the month of June 2009 and we invite all NGOs and local stakeholders of the abovementioned districts to participate.
At the same time the European Community, represented by the European Union Delegation of the European Commission to Albania, has been seeking proposals for supporting Albanian Civil Society Organizations engaged with anti-corruption initiatives with financial assistance from the CARDS 2006 Programme.
The deadline for the submission of projects is 08 June 2009 at 16:00 hrs local time.
Priority Objectives of this call are:
1) Promote Public Awareness and Monitoring – public education, dissemination of information regarding corruption, its causes and social costs and strategies to combat it;
2) Initiatives to Reform Government Practices – strengthening citizens rights to know government’s acts to release timely, complete and accurate info of its operations etc, and;
3) Initiatives at the local level – activities would support amplify the voice of citizens and strengthen their role in monitoring budget allocations.
