Question: Mr. Meta, how important is this Meeting in Sarajevo?

Answer by Mr. Meta: It is a commendable effort by the Spanish EU Presidency, promoted by EU Member States and institutions to re-introduce in a time which is relatively difficult and full of challenges for the EU itself the necessity to complete the European perspective of Western Balkans, exactly now, 10 years after the Zagreb Summit which was followed by the vision unveiled at the Thessaloniki Summit on Western Balkans.

Question: Mr. Foreign Minister, Albania made a step forward towards European integration thanks to the proposal of the EU Commission last week for the visa removal; yet, some work was left to be done, and three conditions were laid down: Albania again with conditions, which is your opinion on that?

Answer by Mr. Meta: The whole process has been a conditional one. Exactly two years ago, Mr. Franco Frattini, at that time EU Vice President and Commissionaire for Internal Affairs unveiled the will for visa liberalization with the Western Balkan countries. The entire Roadmap consists in conditions which are very clear, very technical, concrete, complex and divided into four blocks; the latter constitutes the mainstay of this whole process; I may say that very little remains to be done and there is an appreciation on that by the Commissionaire Malmstrong, Commissionaire F
