TIRANA, July 12 – Albania’s minimum wage will increase by 1,000 lek to 20,000 lek (200 dollars) per month starting from this month, according to a decision made by the National Labour Council on Tuesday. The decision increasing monthly wages by 5.3 percent also foresees that hourly wage for part time workers or will be at 115 lek. The decision comes soon after government approved an increase in pensions of 4 to 7 percent after announcing budget cuts of 18.3 billion lek. The increase for low, medium and high salaries has not been announced yet.
