Visa reintroduction is the worst possible solution to the Balkan asylum problem. It’s bad the for the region and bad for the European Union. Plus, it deals only with the symptom – not the real problem.
TIRANA, Nov 8 – Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Austria and the Netherlands have seen a spike this year in asylum claims from citizens of the Western Balkans. As a result, they are demanding the EU act to provide a mechanism that would restore visas for the region under certain circumstances.
