Albania calls for joint regional projects

Rama: Regional projects in infrastructure, energy and tourism would “make investors trust more and make the region more attractive to big investors.”
TIRANA, Nov. 24 – Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama took part Monday at the Vienna Economic Forum, where he called on the countries in the western Balkans to join efforts and draft joint projects as the best way to be near the European Union where they all intended to become members one day.
The Vienna Economic Forum was created in 2004 as a platform of economic cooperation among the Black Sea and Adriatic countries.
The latest event it had the participation of premiers from Albania, Bosnia, Macedonia, and Montenegro under the lead of Austrian President Heinz Fischer and the participation of other international institutions like the EBRD.
They discussed on the recent economic development in the region and the way to take it ahead. Rama continued the idea of the Berlin summit in August which urges regional countries to work together in projects so that they may withdraw more and easier money from the international institutions and the EU.
“The region should represent a bigger market and should make the major change offering forecast, sustainability and find creative ways to make the region more interesting,” he said.
