TIRANA, Aug. 18 – The Albanian government is trying to get as much attention as it can from international companies, as the small country seeks to auction off onshore and off-shore oil exploration blocks in its territory.

Albania’s officials will present what the country has to offer at the Fourth Balkans Oil & Gas Summit to be held next month in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

Albania’s Energy and Industry Ministry recently announced that the next oil and gas exploration bidding round deadline will be Oct. 15 for onshore blocks Panaja, C and 5 and is already in negotiations with the oil companies that submitted offers for onshore Blocks 4”Ž and Dumrea.

They will use the Sept. 23-25 summit to share more information on these rounds and other upcoming developments.

The summit is organized by International Research Networks, a leading business intelligence group, that uses events and reports to inform businesses and officials on the latest trends.

Albania is also hoping that the country will have huge cash benefits and boost its economy once the European Trans-Adriatic-Pipeline (TAP) becomes functional in 2020 and start delivering its first gas to the Western Balkans and the EU countries from the Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz.
