TIRANA, Nov. 24 – The Minister for National Defense of Greece has fueled the diplomatic spat between Albania and Greece with comments that the Greek army is strong enough not to have anything to fear from Albania and Turkey.

In an activity organized by the Greek Armed Forces held in Thessaloniki, Minister Panos Kammenos was asked to comment on the recent declarations of Albania’s and Turkey’s political leaders.

“Greece’s Armed Forces are strong and do not fear Albanians or Turks,” Kammenos said.

This is not the first time that Minister Panos Kammenos issues such statements, highlighting the strength of Greece against its neighbors and causing unfounded tensions.

Few months ago, Minister Kammenos said that Greece is stronger than Albania in the aspect of military and economy, indicating Tirana should know its place before asking anything from Greece.
