TIRANA, April 3 – A massive fire hit Tirana’s Siri Kodra St. at 7.30 p.m. Tuesday, when a warehouse filled with electric appliances exploded into a fiery inferno.
The area’s inhabitants were the first to be evacuated and while no one was harmed in the process, the material damages of the fire are reported to be big by the police and judging by the clouds of fire that were still hanging over Tirana’s sky Wednesday morning.
Police said it has been difficult to make an exact damage report, as the electrical appliances inside the warehouse are significantly dangerous and have continued exploding, making firefighters’ job at the scene difficult.
An investigative group has been set up to properly identify the reasons behind the massive fire by interrogating the warehouse guards, eye-witnesses and the area’s inhabitants.
