TIRANA, Aug. 31 – The Interior Ministry said Thursday that they had started procedure to fire head of the Temal commune, Mark Zhuri, 45, from the post after some days earlier police had found some 3,400 cannabis plants cultivated at the village of Kajvall in that district, Shkodra region. Zhuri had not let the police and other institutions know about the cultivation of cannabis. Based on a law passed earlier this summer, in June, all local officials are obliged to let the authorities know if illegal drugs are planted in the area under their administration, or they face penalization. The ministry also said they had information that Zhuri also supplied himself such plants.
