Athens, 4 April 2008. Aegean Airlines announced that beginning 2 May 2008 it will begin daily service to Tirana. This is Aegean’s third regularly scheduled destination in the region, after Sofia and Bucharest, and significantly enhances its market penetration in the Balkans. The company announced that for the Athens-Tirana route, it intends to use an AVRO RJ 100 jet configured with 112 seats. The Albanians are familiar with the British made AVRO RJ since it was also flown by the Swiss Crossair in the 90’s.(Tirana Times Staff)
