TIRANA, May 19 – Greek airline, Aegean Airlines, on Monday began operations of daily flights Tirana to Athens with a 112-seat AVRO RJ 100, promising comfort and quality for passengers.
Aegean Airlines commenced six weekly flights between Tirana International Airport and Athens, adding another name to the list of carriers operating at TIA.
This offer will increase, substantially, the choice available for people wishing to travel between the two countries.
The start of operations at TIA by Aegean Airlines brings the number of airlines operating at this airport to thirteen, and the number of destinations by direct flight to 33. For the daily flight, Aegean Airlines will operate an AVRO RJ 100, with a capacity of 112 passengers. From Athens, the airline offers not only a large number of international destinations but also a large number of destinations within Greece.
Aegean Airlines is a full service airline, having a leading domestic position in Greece and a growing presence in international scheduled routes between Greece and destinations in Europe and neighboring countries.
“With the remarkable improvements made in its infrastructure, and with an active marketing policy, TIA has attracted an increasing number of airlines, widening the variety of choices available for passengers. I am sure that Aegean Airlines will bring a quality choice for passengers traveling between Tirana and Athens, one that will be welcomed and enjoyed. We guarantee that TIA will cooperate fully, as with every other client, and with all the quality and efficiency required in performing its duties. This approach will ensure that our partnership will be both successful and enjoyable for ourselves and for Aegean Airlines,” said Andrea Gebbeken, Chief Executive Officer of Tirana International Airport.
TIA will shortly enlarge its passenger terminal, expanding the capacity of the airport and, at the same time, guaranteeing high standards of security, service and comfort for all of its customers.
After a highly successful 2007, TIA expects further growth this year.
