TIRANA, April 2 – Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina have agreed to step up economic corporation considering the small size of trade exchanges between the two countries. Speaking in a meeting with his Bosnian counterpart in Tirana, Albanian Economy Minister Edmond Haxhinasto called for intensification of trade exchanges, welcoming Bosnian investments in energy, tourism and agribusiness.
Mirko Sarovic, Bosnia and Herzegovina Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations pointed out there were potentials for greater economic cooperation between the two countries which are part of the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA).
Bank of Albania data show trade exchanges between Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina are at negligible levels.
Albania’s exports to Bosnia stand at 2 million euros annually while imports from Bosnia were at 26 million euros in 2012, down from 39 million euros in 2011.
