Albania celebrates 95th independence anniversary

VLORA, Nov. 28 – Top officials took part Wednesday at the celebrations of the 95th Independence Day in Vlora. President Bamir Topi, Parliament Speaker Jozefina Topalli and Prime Minister Sali Berisha joined thousand of senior officials, including foreign ones, and Vlora citizens to raise the Albanian flag. But Kosova also remained a main topic of discussion there. “Kosova’s independence is a process that will soon be finalized. Vlora and Prishtina will be the epicenters of Albanians’ independence. I wish the Kosova citizens to soon have independence for their country,” said Berisha. Delegations from Kosova were present at the celebrations, along with Albanian leaders from Macedonia as well. Montenegro had also sent a senior minister of minorities to take part. The independence day was celebrated in Brussels with the presence of many international officials of the European Union and NATO. The gala show was held Wednesday at Hotel Hilton in Brussels where Foreign Minister Lulzim Basha was also present. The show was followed with a concert and a photo exhibition.
